Translational value
- Nanoparticles and related research have always been an interesting domain of inquiry in homeopathy and ultrahigh dilutions (UHD).
- In this study, Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) was used to study the material nature of NPs in UHD.
- Six medicines in various dilutions were studied (Gelsemium, Pyrogenium, Kalium mur, Cuprum, Argentum, and Silicea).
- The NPs were studied for size, distribution, presence of aggregates, brightness, scattering of light, etc., for all potencies as well as controls (pure water).
- It was observed that the sizes and size distributions of NPs in high homeopathic potencies were smaller than those in controls for soluble sources and larger for insoluble sources, even above 11 cH, along with appreciable comparative changes in other indices.
It was concluded that, “Homeopathic medicines contain NPs with specific properties, even when diluted beyond Avogadro’s number. Homeopathic potentisation is not a simple dilution.”
