Mechanistic role of Syzygium cumini (L.) Skeels in glycation induced diabetic nephropathy via RAGE-NF-κB pathway and extracellular proteins modifications: A molecular approach

Translational value
Diabetes is one the fastest prevailing endocrine disorders. Its treatment and management possess a major challenge. In Homeopathy the medicines Syzgium is being used in various preparations to decrease the blood sugar levels, however, its mechanism of action still needs to be deeply understood from molecular point of view. In this study the mother tincture, 30C and 200C of Syzygium was used in glycation induced diabetic neuropathy. It was observed that Syzygium in different potencies could initiate changes in the signaling pathways specific to decrease the blood sugar levels. Hence, the study validates the protective role of Syzygium formulations and signifies its novel potential for treating diabetic neuropathy.
