Pyrogenium 12cH ointment for Myiases in Animals!

Translational value

Adjuvant or add-on therapies in homeopathy are being used and well accepted since a decade now, but the use of local application as add-on is subjected to debate since long, however, there is a considerable acceptance to this concept that might be attributed to deeper understanding of diseases and the circumstances to use local applications ethically.

In this case series the authors used local application of Pyrogenium 12cH (as ointment) as an adjuvant modality in sheep suffering with highly infectious disease – myiasis – a parasitic disease that demands immediate clinical and remedial actions.

The Pyrogenium 12cH ointment limited the development of parasitic larvae and was associated with the repair of tissue losses resulting from the myiases and with subsequent wound healing, together with control of fever and local inflammation.
