Tissue development and healing – Arnica does it well

Translational value

Arnica is synonymous with tissue healing, but what happens at physiological level is still a matter of exploration.

This study explored the effects of Arnica montana in 2c, 3c, 5c, 9c, and 15c dilutions on human macrophages to study the deeper aspects of tissue defence and repair in comparison to controls.

Arnica montana at the 2c dilution significantly stimulated the expression of three genes which code for regulatory proteins of the extracellular matrix.

It was concluded that Arnica Montana targets the extracellular matrix with positive effects on cell adhesion and migration during tissue development and healing.
